Thumbnails belong to their creators
YouTube thumbnail images are typically created by, and protected by copyright belonging to, the channel or creator who uploaded the video (or YouTube itself, for auto-generated frames). ThumbnailGrab does not own, license, or grant any rights to these images — it simply helps you locate and retrieve image files that YouTube already serves publicly for a given video.
Intended, legitimate uses
This tool is built for uses such as reviewing your own channel’s assets, researching design patterns for inspiration, preparing presentations or design references, and general content planning. It is not intended to help anyone republish, resell, or pass off someone else’s thumbnail as their own.
Your responsibility
If you plan to reuse a thumbnail publicly — on a website, in a video, in marketing material, or anywhere else — you are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate rights or permission from the copyright holder, or that your use qualifies under an applicable exception such as fair use, before doing so.

Because thumbnail images are served directly from YouTube’s own servers rather than hosted by us, takedown requests for a specific image are generally best directed to YouTube/Google directly.
